The telephone is one of the earliest technological marvels imported by the Filipinos from the United States of America. That was at least 50 years ago. Today, we have the Age of the Cell Phone, during which time even our pedicab drivers have their own. We Filipinos redefined the use of the cell phone by making it our mode of communication for sending messages (texting) and calling. How come? One reason is that we Filipinos are inventive. Another reason is that we Filipinos are not inventive – we never improved on the telephone service. It’s as antiquated today as it was in the beginning. Amen.
